First Nav Camper Base Camp 2026: A Community Coming to Life

Nav Camper, a Quebec-based manufacturer of premium Mercedes-Benz Sprinter camper vans, brought its community together for the very first edition of Base Camp, held in Quebec's beautiful Vallée Bras-du-Nord.

In the mountains, climbers have a place they call base camp. Think of the famous Everest Base Camp, for example. It's a place to gather, share stories, recharge, and prepare for the next adventure.

In many ways, that's exactly what a camper van represents to us. A home on wheels, a starting point for exploration, and a place to return to after a full day of adventure, where you can slow down and simply enjoy the moment.

That's the idea behind the very first Nav Camper Base Camp. What if, for one weekend, we brought all these base camps together? An opportunity to gather our community, share experiences, create new friendships, and celebrate what brings us together: a love for the outdoors, adventure, and freedom.

From October 9 to 11, 2026, we brought that vision to life in the stunning surroundings of Vallée Bras-du-Nord, in Quebec's Shannahan sector.

‍

Over three days, nearly thirty outdoor enthusiasts came together with their Nav Camper vehicles for a memorable weekend filled with adventure, exploration, shared experiences, and new friendships.

On the agenda: mountain biking, hiking, great food, and campfires. With no packed schedule, everyone was free to explore at their own pace before gathering around the fire in the evening to share stories and relive the day's adventures. After all, that's what a base camp is all about.

‍

More Than a Mercedes Sprinter Gathering

By Friday evening, as the first camper vans rolled into the campsite, the atmosphere was already coming to life. Conversations sparked around the campfire, familiar faces reconnected, and new friendships began to form, setting the tone for the weekend ahead.

On Saturday, everyone set off on their own adventures. Some hopped on their mountain bikes to explore the trails, while others laced up their hiking boots to discover the valley's breathtaking landscapes. Whatever the adventure, everyone gathered back at camp in the evening to share stories, enjoy great food, and unwind together.

But perhaps the most memorable moments were the ones we hadn't planned.

Conversations that stretched late into the night around the campfire, travel tips shared between fellow van owners, stories exchanged over pizza, and laughter filling the campsite. People who had been complete strangers just hours earlier were already connecting over their shared love of adventure.

These are the moments that truly capture the spirit of Base Camp and what makes this gathering so special.

Among those who joined us, two couples shared their stories and what brought them to Vallée Bras-du-Nord for the weekend.

Mario and Christine: A Nav Camper ONYX for Retirement

‍

For Mario and Christine, retirement marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter filled with possibilities and adventures.

Active retirees with a passion for the outdoors, they dreamed of exploring North America at their own pace, embracing spontaneous getaways, and visiting their grandchildren while making the most precious family moments along the way.

Their vision was simple: the freedom to travel without complications. They wanted a self-sufficient, practical, and thoughtfully designed camper van, always ready for the next adventure, whether for a weekend escape or several weeks on the road.

That dream became a reality with their Nav Camper ONYX, built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter platform and customized to suit their lifestyle and the way they love to travel.

And they wasted no time putting their new camper van to use. Just a few months into ownership, they've already travelled thousands of kilometres, exploring destinations like the Gaspésie, the Lower St. Lawrence, and the Bruce Peninsula, among many others. And this is only the beginning, with plenty more adventures on the horizon, including their first experience travelling by van in winter.

At Base Camp, Mario and Christine perfectly captured the spirit of adventure, freedom, and connection that brings our community together.

"What we love most about our van is the freedom to decide to hit the road almost overnight. And this weekend, we're discovering something just as special: the joy of meeting others who share that same sense of freedom."

Daniel and Luce: Exploring Trails from Quebec to Mexico in a Custom-Built Sprinter Van

‍

For Daniel and Luce, the outdoors and travel have always been a way of life. Passionate mountain bikers and hikers, they're constantly searching for new trails to explore and landscapes to discover.

And they're certainly no strangers to vanlife. Having previously owned a Class B camper van, they already knew the freedom and flexibility that life on the road could offer. But as their adventures evolved, so did their needs. They decided to sell their previous van and have a new one built around their lifestyle, this time on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter platform.

That's how their Nav Camper ONYX came to life: a camper van designed around their needs and ready to accompany them wherever the next adventure takes them.

When winter arrives in Quebec, Daniel and Luce typically head south to Mexico, where they spend much of the season exploring mountain biking and hiking trails. Their camper van gives them the freedom to discover new destinations, follow their curiosity, and travel entirely at their own pace.

Closer to home, their love of mountain biking keeps bringing them back to one of their favourite destinations: Vallée Bras-du-Nord. In fact, Base Camp marked their third visit this year alone. With its incredible network of trails and stunning natural surroundings, it's a place they never tire of exploring.

For Daniel and Luce, their ONYX is much more than a way to travel. It's their home away from home, their mobile base camp, keeping them close to nature and allowing them to pursue their passions year-round.

A Community That Goes Far Beyond Our Vans

At Nav Camper, we spend countless hours imagining, designing, and building camper vans that will accompany our clients on adventures for years to come. Along the way, we get to know their projects, their needs, and often even their biggest travel dreams.

But once we hand over the keys, a whole new chapter begins.

This first Base Camp gave us a chance to be part of that next chapter. To see our vehicles out in the world, doing exactly what they were built to do, and, most importantly, to reconnect with the people behind them.

We left the weekend feeling that we had created something much bigger than a simple gathering. A community of curious, adventurous, and generous people who share a love for the outdoors, the freedom to explore, and the simple pleasure of being together.

And for us, that's something we're incredibly proud of.

See you at the next Base Camp!
